About

David Lorenz grew up in Seattle's Capitol Hill Neighborhood. He began his formal musical journey at age six under the direction of  renown concert pianist Jean Boardman.  Over eleven years with Ms. Boardman, David  developed a solid foundation in classical technique and a very intuitive, melodic, rhythmical and spontaneous approach to the instrument.

David completed high school  one year early and was accepted into Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle's premier arts conservatory in the late 1980's.  During the "Cornish Years", David worked with some of the most respected artists in contemporary music including Janice Giteck, Roger Nelson and Thomasa Eckert.  While at Cornish, David developed a diverse background in music composition, improvisation and electro-acoustic media. David graduated with honors in 1994.

David is also a graduate of human development studies at NWSH, an intensive four-year program incorporating Core Energetics, Brennan, and Core Integration techniques. David incorporates these techniques into his work as a personal coach and music educator.

David teaches privately in the greater Seattle Area and online globally.  He coaches and instructs both musicians and non musicians alike, utilizing the piano as a vehicle for personal exploration and growth.
